Dan Walker, 44, has taken to Twitter to address James Jordan’s remarks on AJ Odudu’s Charleston. James, 43, often shares his opinions on Strictly contestants’ dance skills on his Twitter platform, where he boasts 292,800 followers.
Following yesterday’s live show, James tweeted: “AJ. EPIC!!! Loved it from beginning to end.
“One of the best dances of the series.
“Been constantly one of my favourite couples throughout the series and easily the best tonight.
“I just hope she doesn’t keep saying she’s never danced before.
“Well done Kai too, amazing!” he added, in reference to AJ’s pro partner, Kai Widdrington.
James gave the pair a score of 10.
Today, Dan replied to James’ tweet, asking him whether he was able to tell if someone had danced before.
The TV presenter also praised AJ and Kai’s performance and compared it to a West End show.
He typed: “Hi James. Hope all is well.
“I’m aware I’m ignorant about all this but can you really tell if someone has danced before?
“How do you know she hasn’t? She and Kai are AMAZING!
“It’s like watching a West End show,” he concluded.

James explained: “Kai is the best new pro the show has seen for ages…
“And I love his partnership with AJ. They are one of my favourites for sure.
“And yes I can tell when someone has danced before…
“But sometimes people tell me THEY ARE dance trained and it’s very hard to see or believe.”
Dan quipped: “I hear you. You might be surprised by the news that I don’t have an extensive dance background.”
But James had some words of encouragement for Dan too.
He wrote: “I think you are doing great by the way. It’s not always the best dancer that is the most entertaining plus you have the likability as does Sara.
“Keep doing what you are doing.”
