Eamonn Holmes rips into Phillip and Holly after This Morning drama

Eamonn Holmes has ripped into his former This Morning colleagues once again, as he declared that "Phillip was sacked" from his role on the show.

Eamonn, 63, who used to present the show on Fridays alongside his wife, Ruth Langsford, has never been shy about voicing his disdain for Phillip Schofield, 61, and his former co-host, Holly Willoughby, 42..

And since Phillip announced on Saturday that he would be stepping down from This Morning, Eamonn didn't waste the opportunity to tear into him and Holly during his presenting slot on GB News.

It came during the newspaper review section of the show, as a suited-and-booted Eamonn said savagely: "Oh please just stop this. He was sacked. All this nonsense of 'I've decided to step down'. I’m sure you did – here’s your P45 now step down".

Phillip's representatives denied Eamonn's claims that Phil was "sacked from This Morning".

They told OK! : "This is not true, Phillip has stepped away from This Morning presenting duties having co-presented the show for over 20 years."

During the same slot on GB News, Eamonn saved a lot of his vitriol for Holly, who is rumoured to have given ITV an ultimatum that Phillip went or she did, after their once-close relationship was plagued by rumours of a feud.

Referring to Holly's statement, which followed that of Phillip's saying he was leaving This Morning, Eamonn said: "And she says: 'Oh, the couch will not be the same without him being there'.

"Well she wanted him not there. So what is she moaning about. They deserve each other I suppose".

He continued: "Holly is being as false as he is and nobody is talking about the elephant in the room.

"She says 'I thank him for all his knowledge, experience and humour'. All the things that she didn’t have when she came to the show. Well it’s true! I would call that stabbing in the back."

Eamonn then levelled his criticism at both Holly and Phil in the same statement as he said: "I could give you a list of the lack of kindness and lack of awareness from both of them. How they would socialise, and the people around them.

"You just have to look at my phone, full of people who are glad to see the back of the two of them".

Eammon and Ruth hosted This Morning's Friday show from 2006 up until 2020 when they were replaced by Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond.

Back in 2019, Ruth reportedly filed an official complaint against Phil. It came after the presenter cut off her review of Loose Women during a This Morning episode.

Reacting to the incident, the panellist and former This Morning host said that she “had about three more words to say” during the uncomfortable moment.

Speaking after the incident, Eamonn told the Daily Mail’s weekend magazine: "Phillip is renowned for snubbing people. He’s very passive-aggressive."

Eamonn also said: “I don't go for presenters who think they have a special privilege or aura or influence.
