While Victoria Beckham spends a fair amount of her time in the USA these days, it’s come as a surprise to some that she might have started to use American English spelling in her day-to-day life.
The 45-year-old was caught slipping on Instagram on Tuesday when she referred to herself as ‘mommy’ in a selfie caption.
Growing up in Harlow, Essex means VB knows full well that the British English way of saying and spelling mummy is with a ‘U’. No ifs, no buts!
But when she uploaded an adorable selfie with her eight-year-old daughter Harper, it looks like that that piece of knowledge slipped her mind for a second.
‘My little girl and bestest friend. Kisses xx mommy loves u so much xx’, she captioned the heartwarming snap.
But just minutes later, the caption was tweaked and VB made sure ‘mummy’ was written out the British way instead.
Back in 2015, the fashion designer made it clear that she not only love being British, but she’ll never forget her Essex roots.
So we’re going to assume this was just a simple mistake.
The star has been busy developing products for her new skincare range on top of being a mum-of-four and running her fashion empire, so we can understand how the mistake slipped through.
In fact she took the chance to shout out her beauty range co-founder on the ‘gram as well.
‘Verified Grateful to have @sarah.creal, my co-founder and CEO of #VictoriaBeckhamBeauty #DayOfFriendship’, she captioned a snap collage of the duo in the lab.
While the busy star also just revealed her second Reebok x Victoria Beckham collection.
