A formerEastendersactress was reportedly arrested after allegedly ‘catfishing’ a pensioner – who sent her £80,000.
The exsoapstar, who cannot be named, is being investigated by police over allegations she pretended to be in her 20s and offered online sexual services to the man, understood to be in his 80s, for cash.
The pensioner believed they were in a relationship after meeting the woman on a dating website, it has been reported.
Concerned relatives of the man are said to have called detectives after noticing his savings had disappeared.
According to reports, the actress is said to have asked others to deposit some of the pensioner’s money into their bank accounts.
The actress is said to have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit fraud during a raid in East London in July, but the allegations have only now emerged,The Sunreports.
Fraud squad officers are said to have swooped on an address where the actress is believed to be living – taking away electronic devices and documents.
Three other people, two men aged 38 and 34, and a 61 year old woman, were reportedly held by police on suspicion of fraud by false representation over the same suspected incident.
All four were released under investigation.
