The bounds of reality dating TV seem to know no ends. If Love Island doesn’t float your boat, see if you can get into the raunchy trailer for HBO Max’s new dating competition FBoy Island.
Hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, the show sends 24 self-described “f-boys” and “nice guys” (12 each) to a tropical island where three women contestants are staying: Nakia Renee, CJ Franco, and Sarah Emig.
Here’s how it works. The half of the men who call themselves “nice guys” are allegedly looking for love and want to potentially land one of these ladies on the island. The other half, self-proclaimed “f-boys,” are only there to win the series’ cash prize of $100,000.
What’s the catch? No one knows who is who—not even Glaser. While three nice guys could ultimately win the show and land a girlfriend and a nice check, the f-boys will be doing their best to blend in and win the hearts of the contestants… for the money. The trio of women will go through a series of challenges with the guys which will hopefully reveal who is a nice guy and who is an fboy.
The show was created by Elan Gale, who is also responsible for The Bachelor; Sam Dean is the showrunner. Whether you’re tuning in to hate-watch or see if it can match the impact of The Bachelor, its first three episodes will premiere on Thursday, July 29 on HBO Max. The show’s debut season is set to have 10 episodes.
