Yet in July, Madonna enjoyed a relaxing break away from it all with four of her children Mercy James, 13, David Banda, 13, and twins in pictures she shared via Instagram.

The iconic musician gave her 14 million followers a glimpse of her tranquil family holiday, complete with horse riding facilities, a stylish swimming pool, and even a fairy light-lit dinner in the garden.

Madonna also has daughter, Lourdes, 22, with ex Carlos Leon and son, Rocco, 19, with ex-husband Guy Ritchie.

It comes after it was revealed earlier this week that the singer had postponed the start of her Madame X tour which was due to kick off next month on September 12 in New York.

Madonna has delayed the tour after admitting she had underestimated the amount of time it would take to create a ‘magical musical experience’ for her fans.

In a statement, Madonna revealed that her alter ego ‘Madame X’ is a ‘perfectionist’ and she wanted the ‘intimate theatre production’ to run flawlessly.

According to Variety, a Live Nation promoter claimed the struggles the tour team are having is due to the ‘highly specialised production elements’.

‘She underestimated the amount of time it would take to bring this kind of intimate theatrical experience to you and wants it to be perfect!!! Thank you so much for your understanding.’

The tour is in support of Madonna’s album ‘Madame X’, which was released in June, and is largely inspired by her time living in Lisbon, Portugal.

The superstar announced the theatre tour in a short sketch uploaded to YouTube, which featured herself and DJ-and-producer Diplo.
