Top Gear presenter Paddy McGuinness, 48, was caught having sex in a company car with an ex-girlfriend by his own boss. The comedian has now admitted how his raunchy antics got him into quite a bit of trouble.

Paddy has always been a massive motor enthusiast, but in his new book, My Lifey, he admitted that on one occasion he was caught having a bit too much fun in a parked car with his ex.

The former Take Me Out host got up to what he described as “vehicle-based gymnastics” in Vauxhall Astras and pick-up trucks while working for a plant machinery supplier.

Unfortunately for Paddy, the company’s area manager caught the pair in a notorious sex hotspot in his hometown of Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Paddy describes the whole awkward incident in his latest release, admitting that it got him temporarily banned from driving at work.

“We had the seats back, mid-bonk, when the area manager drove past us,” he explained.

“I got into a bit of trouble for that.

“I was off driving duties for a while.”

Paddy was later allowed back in the driver’s seat once his ban had expired and he described how work eventually gave him the keys to the sales rep’s blue Peugeot.

The presenter has described how his obsession with cars started when he was a little boy, with his father offering to give him driving lessons when he was just 11 years old.

Years on, Paddy now presents the UK’s most popular motor show, Top Gear, alongside automotive journalist Chris Harris and former cricketer Freddie Flintoff.

The star began hosting the car show in 2019 and this year he is expected to tour Iceland in an exciting range of motors.

Top Gear was famously presented by Jeremy Clarkson between 1988 and 2015.

Jeremy, 61, later went on to film The Grand Tour with former Top Gear co-stars Richard Hammond and James May in what turned out to be a smash hit series for Amazon Prime.

Paddy has been married to model Christine Martin since 2011 and the couple share three children.

Their twins Penelope and Leo were born in 2013, while their youngest daughter Felicity arriving three years later in 2016.

Prior to appearing on Top Gear, Paddy was probably most famous for his long-running stint as presenter on ITV dating show Take Me Out, which ran for 10 years between 2010 and 2020.

Whilst the success rate of couples that met on the show wasn’t very high, eight of them went on to get married and six babies were born as a result of the series.

The idea of the show was that a single man had to try and get a date with one of thirty single women, who were able to opt out at the push of a button as the show went on.

The show had a mixed reception from critics but drew in viewers week after week, and in 2011 it was even made into a board game by Rocket Games.

The signed My Lifey Hardback edition is available to buy for £20 or less in Waterstones, WHSmith, Amazon and other retailers.

Waterstones description: “From a tearaway youth in Bolton to Take Me Out and telly stardom, the comedy favourite spins his wildly entertaining life story through laugh-out-loud anecdotes and the occasional moving moment.”
