‘A weekend at Windsor!’ Phillip Schofield models his tuxedo as he prepares to host The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration with Julie Etchingham

Phillip Schofield looked dapper on Sunday as he prepared to host ITV’s coverage of her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration.

The 60-year-old posed in front of Windsor Castle in a classic black tuxedo, before sharing a fun snap alongside his co-host for the evening Julie Etchingham, 52.

The event will see performers from all across the world, including Helen Mirren and Tom Cruise, come together to celebrate the Monarch’s remarkable 70-years on the throne.

The This Morning host gave James Bond vibes as he stood with his hands in his pockets, shielding his eyes behind a pair of square rimmed sunglasses.

Phillip wore his silver slocks in a youthful style, completing the smart look with a dickie-bow and white pocket square.

The broadcaster captioned the shot: ‘A weekend at Windsor #platinumjubilee’.

The ITV news reader looked gorgeous in a sleeveless Catherine Walker gown emblazoned with a baroque floral print.

Showing off her toned arms, the journalist wore her blonde locks in a stylish bob, completing the look with a pair of chandelier earrings.

Julie shared the snap of them both to her Instagram writing: ‘Ready for the first big #platinumjubilee celebration here at Windsor tonight & reunited with @schofe @Itv @8pm. And with many thanks @CatherineWalkerLondon’.

This comes after Alan Titchmarsh, 73, who will host a segment of Sunday’s broadcast, recently laughed off being upstaged by Hollywood hunk Tom Cruise, 59.

When organisers broke the news, he replied: ‘Well, has anyone checked with Tom Cruise if he’s ok to be overshadowed by ME?’

A Royal source said: ‘He was joking, of course, but that’s precisely why the Queen is so fond of Alan Titchmarsh’s shows, it’s his sense of humour.

‘They were quite nervous about telling him, but at least he was pleased to be described as a “gardening A-lister”.’

The unlikely duo have top billing for the first major TV event of the Platinum Jubilee celebrating the Queen’s 70 years on the Throne – a live broadcast from the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

The gala will feature more than 1,300 performers, 500 horses, children’s choirs, a 75-piece orchestra and stars from stage and screen.

Different eras of British history will be enacted onstage as part of the show. Dame Helen Mirren, who has played both Queen Elizabeth’s on TV and film, will also be reprising her role as the Tudor Monarch.

Mr Cruise will have his Royal favour repaid this week when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attend the UK premiere of his new film, Top Gun: Maverick, in London.

A source close to tonight’s programme said: ‘We were lucky that Tom Cruise happened to be in town and he was keen to get involved. It adds a different element to the fun of it all.’

Organisers are hoping, however, that Top Gun star will be upstaged with an appearance by the Queen, who is the guest of honour but who has cut back on public events due to mobility issues.
