Piers Morgan, 55, has taken to Twitter to hit out at the backlash aimed at him over “disbelieving” Meghan Markle’s claims from her explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter spoke out after the Archbishop of Canterbury declared Meghan and her husband Prince Harry did not have a “backyard” wedding three days before the official royal ceremony.

It comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told Oprah they had a secret ceremony officiated by Justin Welby.

Meghan said nobody knew the couple had shared personal vows for “just the two of us” ahead of their official wedding day in Windsor on May 19, 2018.

Addressing the Archbishop’s denial of Meghan and Harry’s comments, Piers wrote in view of his 7.9million followers that he should apologise “or lose his job”.

He penned this morning: “The Archbishop of Canterbury should either apologise for disbelieving Meghan Markle’s secret wedding claims – or lose his job.”
