I’m wishing I could turn back time

Jacquie said in view of her 80,500 followers: “It’s my birthday today and I can’t help think what a difference a year makes.

“A year ago I was celebrating without a care in the world. Cancer-free, so I thought, obviously I wasn’t because I found a lump a month later and it doesn’t really work like that.

“But what a year, I mean, a lot of joy has been sucked out of my life in a year, but I’m trying to live in the moment.

“Trying to make the best of it, I’m going to try and have a lovely day today,” she added.

Since her diagnosis, Jacquie has completely removed sugar from her diet but felt tempted to enjoy a slice of cake her daughter, Amelia, had made for her.

She continued: “I’ve been very disciplined with my diet in the last 12 months. I’ve given up sugar, I’ve lost nearly a stone in weight!

“So I’m just wondering today if I have a piece of cake that my daughter’s made, I’m thinking yes, but then will I feel guilty when I’ve eaten it?

“Maybe, I don’t know, it’s so difficult for us with stage four cancer. What to do for the best.”

The Sky News host said she felt “grateful” for her birthday and hopes she has “got some more” ahead.

Opening up on how she keeps positive, Jacquie divulged: “Live in the moment is definitely a thing to do for the best.

“I’m grateful for the birthday, I hope I’ve got some more. I really hope I’ve got some more.

“Thank you very much for all of your messages,” she finished.

Under the post, Jacquie typed: “It’s my birthday – I’m happy, I’m sad, I’m wishing I could turn back time – but don’t we all! Thanks for the messages #onwards #forwards .”

She appeared radiant in the clip, as she wore gorgeous bronze eyeshadow and softly contoured make-up for her celebrations.

Jacquie kept her hair off her face in an up ‘do which drew attention to a delicate silver choker necklace, while her hands appeared perfectly manicured in black polish.

The TV star revealed her breast cancer had returned back in June last year, and has kept fans updated on her fight against the disease.

She first had breast cancer in 2013, before going into remission following a mastectomy.

At the end of last year, she underwent 12 blasts of cold cap chemotherapy in a bid to fight the disease.

While last month she felt “a little bit worried” as she waited in hospital to have an operation on her lymph nodes.

The TV presenter is married to Eduardo Beltrao and the couple have three children – Amelia, Tiago and Jorge.
