Stacey Dash's ex Jeffrey Marty says he was 'hypnotized into marriage'

Stacey Dash’s estranged husband has reportedly filed to annul the marriage because he was ‘hypnotized’ into tying the knot.

According to TMZ, Jeffrey Marty is said to have claimed he got married to the Clueless star, 53, after ‘hypnotic prayer techniques’ were used by a pastor who put ‘serious religious pressure on him’.

The site reported that Jeffrey filed new court papers in response to her divorce petition and he claimed he married Stacey 10 days after meeting because her pastor ‘unexpectedly and suddenly proclaimed that it was God’s will’ that they got married.

Jeffrey has also reportedly cited that he was unable to consent to the nuptials as ‘hypnotic prayer techniques’ were used and there was ‘pressure from other clergies’.

TMZ claims that the lawyer didn’t actually describe the ‘hypnotic’ techniques used while Stacey’s attorneys ‘don’t fully admit’ to the claims. has contacted Stacey’s representatives for comment.   

Stacey tied the knot with lawyer Jeffrey in a secret ceremony days after they met in April 2018, Page Six reported at the time.

Her manager confirmed the news, explaining: ‘They wanted it on the D.L. [down low].’

Sources claimed she met him after withdrawing from her campaign for Congress in California.

Then in September 2019, Stacey was arrested for domestic battery after a reported altercation with Jeffrey.

And Stacey later tweeted: ‘Like normal married couples my husband and I had a marital dispute that escalated. Thank you for your support and love. Please give him the same.’

However, they went on to announce their decision to split in May of this year.

Stacey wrote on Instagram: ‘Hello Everyone, My husband and I have made the hard decision of ending our marriage. After much prayer, I feel this is the right path for both of us.

‘I wish him nothing but the best. Thank you everyone for your support and respecting our privacy during this difficult time.’

She included the hashtags ‘#Love #Faith #StaceyDash #Redeemed #Warrior #Grace #LifeLesson #Jesus.’

The actress – best known for playing Dionne in the 1994 movie Clueless – has a daughter Lola and a son Austin from previous relationships with her ex-husband Brian Lovell and former partner Christopher Williams respectively.

Jeffrey is a father to three children from a previous relationship.
