What Sabrina Soto Was Like Before The Fame

Sabrina Soto is the current host of HGTV’s The High Low Project and has starred in a number of other projects with the network, including White House Christmas, Get It Sold, Real Estate Intervention, HGTV Green Home, Ty Breaker, and HGTV Showdown, in recent years (via TVOvermind). But who was Soto before she became an HGTV fixture?

After being born in Miami to a Cuban family, Soto found inspiration from her mother, who worked as a decorator and ran a home-staging business, according to Soto’s HGTV bio. As she grew up, Soto watched her mother closely and developed a love for interior design, organization, and real estate before enrolling at the University of California at Los Angeles (via IMDb).

Following two years in college, where she studied design, Soto decided to pursue different interests. After dabbling with a number of hosting gigs, though, she returned to her first love design, becoming a licensed real estate agent and began to stage and sell homes in California (via Bethesda Magazine).

Sabrina Soto was a real estate agent for three years

After receiving her real estate license, Sabrina Soto worked for three years in the industry. Years later, she likely benefits from having this experience, especially when it comes to putting money into homes for a profit.

Following her short-lived real estate career, Soto decided that she wanted to get back on TV. Luckily, with a father who worked as a television news producer for NBC’s Today, she didn’t have to wait very long to make it happen. After being featured on MTV and TLC, including TLC’s reality series A Dating Story (via Facebook), Soto answered an online ad in 2006 for a casting call by Edelman Productions, which works with HGTV (via Bethesda Magazine); her partnership with the network was launched.

Her HGTV career allows Soto to combine her love of interior design with her affinity to appear in front of a camera. Aside from work, the TV personality also enjoys such hobbies as going to the beach, hiking, and cooking (via IMDb). She currently lives in New York City with her daughter Olivia Gray, who she shares with ex-boyfriend Steve Grevemberg (via Distractify).
