A family have hit out at thieves who stole their hot tub on the eve of the hottest day of the year.
Crooks emptied the water out of the tub last week, before returning half-an-hour later to roll it away.
They had to push the stolen item over a 6ft fence after dragging it across a family's garden in Worthing, West Sussex.
Siblings Sam and Sarah Van Crugten, 26 and 23, were house-sitting while their parents were abroad when the theft took place.
Their mum Karen, 48, told The Sun : "We used the hot tub all the time . The grandkids loved it, now it’s gone. It’s such a shame.
“We have CCTV of the low-life scum in the act stealing it. They came in and took out the pump and then went away and were happy enough to risk coming back half-an-hour later.
“They just rolled it away and basically threw it over the fence into the park behind the house."
Karen added that she was 'gutted' about the theft and said the thieves must have had trouble removing the hot tub from the garden.
In a Facebook post Karen wrote: "Low life scum in the act stealing our hot tub last night, low life scum."
Her daughter Sarah added 'I hate feeling like I’m being watched' in her own Facebook post, which included stills of CCTV footage of the raid.
