DEAR DEIDRE: I GET into a panic if we’ve got no wine in and it’s getting towards the evening. Does this make me an alcoholic?
A house with no booze was never a problem before the pandemic.
I would go to the gym after work or go for a drink with friends.
Sometimes I’d have an evening with my partner and watch TV. It wasn’t a big deal.

Since lockdown though, my job stress is huge.
I’m in car sales and it’s been impossible to reach my targets.
My boss is constantly on my back and customers are few and far between.
My partner is 34 and he doesn’t drink much, nor does he complain but I’m now drinking more than one bottle a day.
I’m a 30-year-old woman. Have I got a problem?
DEIDRE SAYS: As you suspect, you do need to cut down.
According to Drink Aware, you’re close to being dependent on alcohol and almost consuming your weekly recommended units in a day.
Check out the calculator at drinkaware.co.uk.
The restrictions are easing which may help you to feel less focused on alcohol.
Tell your partner you want to cut down but you need his support.
Suggest you exercise together to keep you away from the booze.
