Two siblings were determined to start their own fashion brand so got to work in their garden shed – and they turned over £3 million last year.

Alice, 25, and Maisie Jones, 22, came up with the name Sisters & Seekers.

The former worked as a junior design engineer and university student, while her younger sister was finishing sixth form and embarking on her degree in Business Management.

But they hoped to become entrepreneurs and started operating at their home in Hope, Flintshire, back in 2017.

According to North Wales Live, they started to create ‘athleisure’ style clothing aimed at 18–30 years old.

Despite only having £2,000 to invest into the project, which involved selling vintage items on eBay and Depop, they’ve managed to make a fortune.

Alice and Maisie are so successful that they’ve had to relocate to a larger premises.

They now have a team of 15, which operates in Llay near Wrexham.

The sisters also get a lot of the production done in the UK and use local suppliers for embellishing and embroidery.

They said: “We lived and breathed the business 24/7.

“Up until the end of year two, we were consistently working at least 16-hour days to make sure we were perfecting all areas as best as we could, especially as we didn’t start to take any staff on until after our first birthday, so workload was heavy.”

The sisters added: "The team we have now built work tirelessly and are as passionate about the brand and seeing it succeed as we are, and we truly couldn’t ask for anything better than that.

“That’s definitely been the key to our continued growth, plus the ongoing support of our loyal customers.”

Even though they’re still young, Alice and Maisie have already hit career milestones.

They had their products stocked in selected Topshop stores and also made a fortune on Black Friday.

During the shopping event in 2020, they hit their £100,000 daily sales target by 1am.

They also created a menswear ‘brother brand’ called Brother + Kin in the height of the pandemic.

The businesswomen added: “There has been a lot of proud and pivotal moments on the companies journey so far, from moving out of the garden shed to the first premises, hiring the first employee, hitting milestones on social media accounts and smashing financial targets as a team.

“These have all been equally emotional and memorable highlights.”
