The Golden Globes Awards – which honours the best of TV and film – is known for its glitzy red carpet and a televised ceremony bursting with A-listers and high-end fashion looks.

However, this year's event was very different, with no big broadcast or celebrities and the winners just being announced on the Golden Globes' website.

The awards' President Helen Hoehne told Sky News that it was a choice to have a stripped-back event this year and that nominees were not invited to attend.

She explained that: "We're taking a lot of precautions because of Omicron."
