Drake Says COVID-19 Messed With His Hairline

The iconic “Started From the Bottom” singer, songwriter, and all-around entertainment mogul, Drake, has scared the public straight, following his latest confession. The rapper candidly exposed on social media this week that he has apparently contracted Covid-19. However, what he really has people talking about is two-fold: where is his album, and what is this newfound temporary hair loss symptom about?” While the actor is known for nostalgically reminding us of his Degrassi days as Jimmy, many are wondering how serious his bout with the virus was.

How severe was Drake’s COVID-19 experience?

The 34-year-old Canadian rapper has been a little less active on social media and while fans may have assumed it was due to the release of his 6th studio album, he recently admitted that wasn’t a current priority.

In fact, he surprisingly shared that he is recovering from Covid-19. Not only was that an unexpected bomb but also that hair loss was one of his main symptoms, drove fans to show an enormous shower of love and well wishes.

People reports the detailed exchange like so:

“That heart is stressed 💀😭,” a fan wrote, on the fan page account about the small heart that Drake has shaved on the front left side of his hairline.

“I had COVID that s— grew in weird I had to start again 😂, It’s coming back don’t diss,” Drake responded.

While we are learning more and more about this global virus day by day, it’s no wonder that there are a plethora of side effects no one is aware of, yet temporary hair loss is surely a legit symptom.

While Drake was again one of the first in the celebrity ring, to be transparent about his experience, he isn’t alone. The actor, Alyssa Milano, talks to People about her “extreme hair loss” while she carried the virus on top of unwanted “brain fog.”

“It’s hard, especially when you’re an actor and so much of your identity is wrapped up in those things, like having long silky hair and clean skin,” said Milano. “Along with that also, I have the brain fog. Which, again, as an actress, as someone who has to memorize dialogue and be able to emote, and respond, and be on my toes, it’s frightening.”

Needless to say, the symptoms of covid do not discriminate and can be a trying thing to battle while juggling your career.

When will Drake drop ‘Certified Lover Boy’?

Alongside genuine concern and prayers for Drake’s speedy recovery, many still have the lingering question regarding the release of his promised album. Originally set to be released at the beginning of this month in January, then pushed back to the end of the summer which is slowly ending, and now with no direction, fans are getting impatient.

The only comment Drake shared about why the project was being postponed was on his Instagram story saying:

“I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab, my energy has been dedicated to recovery. I’m blessed to be back on my feet and feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January.”

Between the simultaneous daunting releases of Kanye West’s ‘DONDA’ and Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’, it’s not clear how much longer the public can reasonably wait for the legends’ music.

What’s new with Drake

With what little check-in we did get via social media, it’s an inspiring thing to see the legend eager to get back to the thing he does best and that makes the biggest hits!

Since the global introduction of his son Adonis Graham he’s been incrementally open about raising his now 3-year-old son. As many parents can relate, focusing on any one task on top of physically healing from surgery, can be challenging with your child at your hip, yet Drake is committed to perfecting the balance.

It might just mean fans will have to wait a little while longer for his next album.
