Jeremy Clarkson sheepishly brings adorable pet lamb to a rural pub for a pint

It's definitely not Easter, but that didn't stop Jeremy Clarkson from taking an adorable lamb to the pub with him.

Showing a rarely-seen softer side, the former Top Gear host posed for a picture at the pub with a very cute, fluffy, black and white lamb.

It wasn’t your average beer garden guest, but seeing as they were in the countryside it might be a more normal sight.

The 61-year-old posted a picture taken at the rural Cotswolds pub, as he posed with the lamb in front of other drinkers and a confused looking Labrador.

He captioned the snap: "Surprised dog at the pub yesterday."

After stepping down from presenting Top Gear, Clarkson has been keeping himself busy with running the Diddly Squat Farm Shop in Chipping Norton.

He has been running it with his 46-year-old partner Lisa Hogan since 2020.

Fans joked that a man in the background looked like Clarkson’s Grand Tour colleague James May.

“Is that James May in the background keeping an eye on you?” laughed one.

“Can’t believe you didn’t let May sit at the table with you. Even wore his favourite blue jumper” added another.

It’s been a rough few months for the presenter, and fans are happy to see him looking healthier in the surprising new pic.

Earlier this year, Clarkson wrote that he had battled with Covid-19 over Christmas and genuinely worried he would "die alone" from the disease.

In The Sunday Times, he shared his experience after he became unwell just before Christmas day.

He recalled: "The doctor was very clear, I'd feel under the weather for between five and 14 days and then I'd either get better or I'd have to go to hospital.

"Where, because I am 60 and fat, and because I've smoked half a million cigarettes and had double pneumonia, I'd probably die, on my own, in a lonely plastic tent."

It doesn’t sound pleasant at all, as Clarkson said he woke up drenched in sweat as he experienced a persistent dry cough.

As he went into isolation, Clarkson says he took himself to bed with "the new Don Winslow book and a bag of kale" and waited "for the Grim Reaper to pop his head round the door".

He’s known for his bravado, however the presenter admitted: "I'm not going to lie — it was quite scary!"

Clarkson added: "With every illness I've had, there has always been a sense that medicine and time would eventually ride to the rescue, but with Covid-19 you have to lie there, on your own, knowing that medicine is not on its way and that time is your worst enemy."

It seems like he’s feeling much better now.
