BBC Breakfast presenter Steph McGovern, 37, 'expecting first child'

BBC Breakfast presenter Steph McGovern is ‘expecting her first child’, according to reports.

Steph, 37, is reportedly ‘thrilled’ she is about to become a mum with her girlfriend.

A source told The Sun Steph has revealed to her loved ones she is ‘due in November’.

However the couple want to keep details about the pregnancy as private as possible, and ‘won’t be doing magazine shoots any time soon’.

Her BBC colleagues are also said to be ‘delighted’.

The presenter reportedly ‘suffered really badly with morning sickness’ and was even sick ‘recently, just seconds before going on air.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted Steph’s camp for comment.

It comes over a year after Steph was forced to deny on Twitter that she was expecting, joking that it was a ‘pot belly’.

Slapping down speculation, she tweeted in January: ‘For those who are congratulating me on my “pregnancy”. I am not “with child”, I am “with pot belly”.’ She jokingly added a pig emoji.

The newsreader also told MailOnline last year that her boss at the BBC had started sorting maternity cover, prompting her to clear things up on social media.

Steph said: ‘I’d definitely be in the wrong job if I got offended by comments like that. Even my own auntie asked me once if I was pregnant after seeing me on the telly – that’s just life on camera.

‘I just decided to tweet a reply about it because I’d had a run of a few celebratory tweets and I wanted to clarify I wasn’t and get in there before my boss started arranging my maternity cover!’

The presenter is currently working on a new series called Shop Well For Less alongside The One Show star Alex Jones.

The new series will start on 24 July.
