WARNING: This article contains full spoilers for Black Widow.
Black Widow bolsters the international assassin’s storyline by delving into her backstory. The character’s “family” are introduced, made up of Red Guardian (David Habour), Melina (Rachel Weisz) and Yelena Bulova (Florence Pugh). After the events of the film are brought to an end, Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) makes a return with a new look.
What does the final Black Widow scene mean?
After Black Widow successfully defeated Dreykov (Ray Winstone) at The Red Room’s floating headquarters, she freed the other Widows from their mind control.
Together with Yelena, Red Guardian and Melina, the widows – and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko) – escaped to live a new life full of free will.
Black Widow stood to meet General Ross (William Hurt) who was coming to arrest her for rejecting the Sokovia Accords.
The film then fades to black and shows a “two weeks later” title. The story picks up again with Natasha meeting Mason (O-T Fagbenle) her arms dealer.
When Natasha returns to the big screen she is sporting a new look with shorter blonde hair.
This is the style she had in the follow-up movie to Captain America: Civil War, Avengers Infinity War.
Mason then presents the hero with a brand new Quinjet. He comments: “You see what I can do with some time and a little bit of money?”

Fans may recall this jet was used in one of the early scenes in Infinity War.
The scene in question was in Scotland whereby Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) were attacked by members of Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) army.
They were subsequently saved by Captain America (Chris Evans), Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Black Widow.
After ensuring Vision and Wanda were safe, they flew to safety on the Quinjet that Black Widow acquired in the new final scene of her solo movie.
This final scene of Black Widow is provided to bridge the gaps between Civil War and Infinity War.
Black Widow was saved by Steve Rogers in Civil War before going on the run as a fugitive.
This added information explains how the Secret Avengers were so well-equipped by the time Infinity War began.
With Black Widow now in the books, the character has well-and-truly been laid to rest.
Natasha was killed off in Avengers Endgame while on the planet Vormir.
She sacrificed herself in order for Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) to get the Soul Stone and defeat Thanos.
At the moment, Black Widow is not confirmed to be returning to the series in the future.
Black Widow is in cinemas today and arrives on Disney Plus with Premier Access on Friday.
