Coronation Street is famed for its juicy love stories, with everything from sordid affairs to star-crossed proposals gracing the cobbles over the years.
Major characters like Carla Connor, played by Alison King, and Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) have seen their love lives at the centre of grisly plots of late, with one-night stands and cruel abuse.
But in real life, the stars of Weatherfield enjoy romances that are relatively drama-free, with happy marriages and children of their own.
And, certain stars like Sally Carman and Joe Duttine even met their match behind-the-scenes on the iconic ITV set.
Below we take a look at some of the biggest names on Corrie, and their mysterious real-life partners.
Ian Bartholomew and Loveday Ingram
Joining the cast of Corrie in 2018, Ian Bartholomew became a household name playing the villainous Geoff Metcalfe.
Away from the cameras, Ian, 66, is happily married to wife Loveday Ingram, who works as a director of Shakespearean drama.
The couple has worked together in the past, collaborating in a production of Richard III for Nottingham Playhouse seven years ago.
And, Loveday and Ian share two children together – a teenage girl and a 12-year-old boy.
Speaking about working with her hubby in the past, Loveday told The Stage: "We have a very well-established shorthand.
"I know when I need to encourage him in a particular direction and I can be completely blunt and honest with him when I need to be."
Alison King and David Stuckey
Having played Carla Connor for 14 years, Alison's character is currently embroiled in a love triangle with Peter and Adam Barlow.
In reality, the 47-year-old actress is head over heels for IT salesman David Stuckey, with the pair caught up in their wedding planning.
David proposed on a cruise around the Mediterranean last year, popping the question on their one year anniversary.
The lovebirds met when they were introduced by their shared personal trainer, and are planning a "nice party" for their special day.
Alison confessed she had a feeling David might propose, as she told OK!: "I'd bought him a Rolex as an engagement present too, and I took it along just in case he asked as I had an inkling he would!"
Chris Gascoyne and Caroline Harding
Known as Carla Connor's other half on Corrie, Peter Barlow has been played by actor Chris Gascoyne for 20 years.
The 52-year-old's real-life wife, Caroline Harding, also made a Coronation Street appearance earlier this year, playing Weatherfield's new doctor.
This isn't the first time Caroline appeared as a doctor on the soap, and this year she resumed her role in a tragic storyline that saw Leanne Battersby's son die of an incurable genetic illness.
Sweethearts Chris and Caroline live together in their home in Chorlton, Manchester, and regularly enjoy family holidays across the pond in the French countryside.
The couple share three children – two teenage sons, and a daughter.
Mikey North and Rachael Isherwood
Mikey North's Gary Windass is about to be at the centre of a major Christmas storyline, when the murder of Rick Neelan comes back to haunt him.
When filming wraps, the 34-year-old actor returns home to his wife Rachael Isherwood and their two young children.
Rachel gave birth to the couple's second child, daughter Eliza, last year, and they are also proud parents to their adorable son Archie, four.
However, the sweethearts have no plans for further additions to their clan, with Mikey telling OK!: "I would be highly surprised if we had any more. Two is a great number."
Mikey and Rachael tied the knot in 2016, marrying in a rustic winter ceremony in the stunning Curradine Barns in Shrawley.
Sally Carman and Joe Duttine
Corrie fans love a real-life Corrie couple, and actors Sally Carman and Joe Duttine are exactly that.
Sally, who plays Abi Franklin, said "yes" earlier this year when the Tim Metcalfe actor popped the question in an outdoor proposal.
Announcing the happy news to fans, Sally, 39, shared a snap to social media, showing the couple celebrating with champagne, an emerald sparkler on the bride-to-be's finger.
The couple moved in together earlier this year, their new home featuring a plush island unit and modern overhead lighting.
Discussing their relationship, a source told The Sun: "Both Joe and Sally had been single for a while and just met at the right time in their lives.
"Sally thinks Joe is a funny and caring guy and he's really fallen for her, too. They've now told their castmates and everyone thinks it's a match made in heaven."
Shelley King and Trilby James
Yasmeen Nazir moved viewers to tears this year when she finally got justice over her evil husband Geoff Metcalfe.
In real life, actress Shelley King, who has been a fixture on the soap since 2014, is happily loved-up with wife Trilby James.
While the couple hasn't confirmed when they met, the 65-year-old is in a civil partnership with the actress and director.
A fellow screen star, actress Trilby has appeared in the likes of Poirot, Little Lord Fauntleroy, Casualty, and Cake.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Shelley revealed the sweethearts have enjoyed the time spent together in lockdown, with filming shutting down for several weeks.
She said: "My partner and I are actually getting on quite well. We love walking. I'm terrible at Facebook and Twitter and our computer is so old, so I've ordered a new one and we're going to have some IT lessons.
"I'm a big petrol head and I'm missing my cars at the moment. I have four."
Tina O'Brien and Adam Crofts
Corrie's Sarah Platt celebrated 20 years on the soap earlier this year, enjoying a number of onscreen romances in that time.
Earlier this year, she wed hubby Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), only for their short-lived marriage to end in tears just months later.
In 2018, actress Tina O'Brien walked down the aisle with her real-life fiancé Adam Crofts in a romantic New Years' Eve ceremony in Manchester.
Inviting a number of her co-stars along for their special day, the couple had been engaged since 2016.
Their son, Beau, was born in 2014, and Tina has a daughter named Scarlett from a previous relationship with her Corrie star Ryan Thomas.
Simon Gregson and Emma Gleave
One of the longest-running cast members on Corrie, Simon Gregson joined the soap as Steve McDonald in 1989.
A decade ago, he said "I do" with long-term partner Emma Gleave at St Bartholomew's church in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
The sweethearts share three young sons together – Alfie, 13, Harry, 11, and Henry Teddy, four.
While Simon, 46, is happily married, the actor previously admitted he can't stand filming wedding scenes on the soap.
Chatting with Manchester Evening News in 2018, he said: "The irony is I hate filming weddings! It is a nightmare as they take days out on location and have a cast of thousands."
Jane Danson and Robert Beck
Jane Danson is in the running for the soap awards next year, thanks to her moving performance as grieving mum Leanne Battersby this year.
She is also acting out a devastating break-up, her relationship with Nick Tilsley coming to an end due to the strain of their shared grief.
In real life, Jane is wed to fellow actor Robert Beck, the couple sharing two young sons together – Harry Alexander Jack, twelve, and Sam Alfie Robert, nine.
Celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary this year, the lovebirds tied the knot at the Gibbon Bridge Hotel in Lancashire.
Meeting in 1999, Jane and Robert first got to know one another at the inaugural British Soap Awards ceremony, and the rest is history.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8pm on ITV.
