EastEnders residents and fans were remembering the good old days during a festive tribute which paid homage to characters from the past – including some much missed dead characters.
In the scene – which has become timely following the passing of Dame Barbara Windsor – photographs were shown to the crowd at the Christmas community event.
This included iconic landlady Peggy Mitchell, popular and now late couple Pat and Frank Butcher and the recently deceased Chantelle Atkins in a happy photo with her kids, which touched Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley).
Other faces from the past included Pauline and Arthur Fowler and Lou Beale and residents enjoyed the look down memory lane.
And it wasn’t just those who we miss who featured as Sharon Beale (Letitia Dean) cringed at her 80s haircut while an awkward family photograph of Honey and Billy Mitchell (Emma Barton and Perry Fenwick) showed up – on the same day that Billy was crushed to have caught her sharing a kiss with Jay (Jamie Borthwick).
The montage brought a warm and fuzzy feeling to the Square – that is until Ian’s (Adam Woodyatt) photo came up with an RIP death date of December 25 2020.
As Ian was left terrified by this very dark threat, many of the suspects in his recent attack watched him for a reaction – with Ben (Max Bowden) and Peter (Dayle Hudson) both enjoying a smirk.
But who was responsible?
