Emmerdale’s Kim Tate (played by Claire King) has gone through a challenging few months and feels as though she’s losing everything. Her son Jamie Tate (Alex Lincoln) is believed to be dead after his car crashed into a river, however, a body was never found and Kim is adamant he’s still alive. On top of that, Kim’s former daughter in law Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) was recently killed on an adventure weekend gone wrong. As a result, Kim has been looking after her now orphaned granddaughter Millie Tate (Willow Bell). However, things took a turn on Wednesday night’s instalment of the ITV soap when Andrea’s mother Hazel (Kate Anthony) arrived and revealed she’d be taking Millie away. Will Kim end up taking extreme measures to ensure she doesn’t lose her granddaughter?

On Wednesday night’s episode, Kim and Hazel met for the first time as they clashed outside the village church.

“I know you. You’re Kim Tate and You made my daughter’s life a misery,” Hazel snapped.

“So, you are Andreas mother. Well, since we’re Millie’s grandparents I think we should make an effort to be polite to each other, for her sake.”

Hazel replied: “After the way you’ve behaved? No chance.”

Things escalated further later on when the pair argued outside the church again during Andrea’s memorial service.

Hazel barked: “I’m here to look after my daughter’s interests and stop you from doing any more damage.”

“She’s dead. How can anyone do her any more damage?” Kim asked.

“She loved Millie and she’d want me to keep her away from you,” Hazel said, insisting she was trying to fulfil Andrea’s wishes.

Kim replied: “And how are you planning to do that? She lives with me at Home Farm.”

“Not anymore!” Hazel hit back, with Kim responding: “You’re going to have a hard time proving that.

“I have a great legal team behind me,” she added.

However, Hazel commented: “That’s why Andrea made sure I have a trump card.

“Before she died, she named me as Millie’s legal guardian,” she revealed.

“No!” Kim said in shock, with Hazel insisting: “She doesn’t belong with you anymore.”

Making it clear she was desperate to keep her granddaughter living with her, Kim exclaimed: “But, I love her!”

Despite Kim’s pleas, Hazel insisted Millie would be leaving the village with her.

“Your feelings don’t matter. When this memorial is over, I’ll be taking Millie home with me and there’s not a thing you can do about it,” she said.

But, will Kim let her granddaughter go without a fight?

Having lost both her parents in tragic circumstances, Millie may want to wave goodbye to the village and the memories it holds.

If Millie willingly leaves with her other grandmother Hazel, Kim will likely be left heartbroken.

Having already lost so much, the guardianship dispute could tip Kim over the edge and push her to take matters into her own hands.

Could Kim end up kidnapping Millie and going on the run away from Emmerdale?

Emmerdale continues Thursday at 7pm on ITV.
