Escape to the Chateau has returned to Channel 4 and Dick Strawbridge has been busy working on the beautiful chateau with Angel Adoree. The couple have worked hard on their French Neo-Renaissance property since 2015. Fans are keen to know whether they have ever thought about putting the chateau back on the market.

Are Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree selling their chateau?

Dick and Angel bought their 45-bedroom chateau for £280,000 back in 2015 and they restored the property with hopes of using it as a wedding venue.

Ever since then, the couple have made millions from the crumbling castle they now call home.

They have made their money by hiring out parts of the venue for fairytale weddings and guided tours.

The castle is now believed to be worth more than £2million, with the cost of a wedding ranging from £19,000 to £38,000.

The couple also make their money through TV rights from Channel 4 as they feature on Escape to the Chateau.

Since renovating their home, they have branched out into other business ventures including homeware, gifts and more.

But would they be prepared to give all of that up and sell their beloved home for a huge profit?

At the moment, Dick and Angel have no plans to sell up as they have worked so hard getting the chateau to the perfect state it is in today.

The venue is fully booked until 2022, so it has by no means seen popularity dwindle over the years.

The Chateau-de-la-Motte Husson is recognised around the world as the series has also taken off in the US.

London-based property agent John Adams sources chateaus like Dick and Angel’s for investors.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: “They could definitely command a premium price because of the flare in their renovations.

“And the fact that so many people have fallen in love with the property after enjoying the show on Channel 4.”

He said the property would be marketed at about £2million based on its value as a wedding business.

The chateau would most likely be snapped up quickly if it were to go on sale, due to its prestige from featuring on TV.

But Dick and Angel are very proud of their home, where they raise their two children, Arthur and Dorothy.

For members of the public, they only have access to some areas within the grounds and the chateau itself.

The venue has become one of the most sought after backdrops for weddings, but they come at a price.

To hire the chateau alone could cost couples more than £6,000, and this is not including the wedding breakfast.

But this is no issue for those who have their hearts set on the picturesque location.

As the chateau is fully booked for months to come, it is evident the experience is worth every penny.

Fans of the couple have been tuning into their spin-off show, Escape to the Chateau DIY, which airs on More4.

The pair launched the series in 2018 and it sees Dick and Angel help other British families buy and renovate chateaux in France.

Season eight of the original Escape to the Chateau series started airing in October 2021.

Escape to the Chateau airs on Channel 4.
