It's almost that time we've all been waiting for – the Friends reunion episode.

The hit sitcom hasn't been on our screens since coming to an end on NBC back in 2004.

But ever since then fans have been hoping for a reunion episode to be announced in order to see the beloved characters one final time.

The special episode was confirmed back in February 2020, and now we finally have an air date and trailer.

While the US air date has been confirmed, we're yet to have confirmation about the UK release date.

Here's everything we know about how you can watch it in the UK.

How to watch the Friends reunion

The Friends reunion will be available for US fans to watch on HBO Max on May 27.

Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel Green in the series, confirmed the date by sharing the trailer on Instagram, adding: "It's official! The #FriendsReunion premiers May 27th on @HBOMax – could we BE any more excited?!"

HBO bought the streaming rights for Friends for $425 million, but HBO Max is not available for UK viewers.

The UK air date has not yet been announced.

However, according to reports, Sky is most likely to secure the UK rights to the highly-anticipated reunion episode.

Sourced told Deadline that Sky is considered the most likely choice due to its close ties with Warner Brothers.

However, it has not yet decided, and as Deadline says, another broadcaster could make a "knockout offer".

Should the media corporation be successful, the Friends Reunion episode will most likely be broadcast in the UK the following evening (May 28), according to the Independent.

We will update this piece as soon as it has been confirmed.

On May 13 2021, HBO dropped a list of celebrity guests, including Justin Bieber, David Beckham and Lady Gaga.

James Corden, Cara Delevingne and Kit Harrington will also play a part in what has been described as a "real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show".

Elliott Gould, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler, Reese Witherspoon and Malala Yousafzai will all also make guest appearances.

HBO Max has also released a trailer for the reunion, which dropped on May 13, on its official YouTube channel.

In the trailer, the cast can be seen walking away from the camera together, with a slowed-down version of the original theme song playing.

At the end of the trailer, text appears, which reads: "The one where they get back together."
