This week Fast and Furious 9 Director’s Cut hits store shelves with a collection of special features and extra scenes. After nine’s release, it was announced by the film’s director, Justin Lin, that Fast and Furious 10 and 11 will be the final instalments in the series. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Mia Toretto star Jordana Brewster hinted at what could be on its way in the final two movies.

Brewster said she “hopes” the next two movies will be even bigger and better than Fast 9.

She also teased that the final films could see the introduction of Mia and Brian O’Conner’s children.

Brian was played by Paul Walker, who tragically died in 2013 – however his Fast and Furious character is still alive and well, and has since been off-screen looking after his and Mia’s children.

Brewster explained that her character’s kids could be a great source for stories. She said: “Also, my kids! Maybe my kids have grown up a bit more.

“Maybe they’re a bit of trouble? I feel like there’s lots to explore.”

Brewster was previously quoted in saying she “would love” to see Walker’s real-life daughter, Meadow Walker, join the series going forward.

On the idea, she said: “Oh for sure, absolutely. I think so. I would love that. We’ll see.” (Via ET)

The Fast and Furious series has always been written with family at its core, so the introduction of the next generation of Torettos would certainly be a logical step forward. Could that include Meadow Walker?

The 41-year-old also teased further backstory and conflicts involving the newly introduced character Jakob Toretto, played by John Cena.

Brewster told Express.co.uk: “I feel like, with the introduction of Jakob, one thing I really loved about nine was that you sort of understand more of our history, and the Toretto family dynamic.

“So I’d like to understand more about my [Mia’s] relationship with Jakob.”

Brewster would also like to spend some more time on-screen with Letty, played by Michelle Rodriguez.

She smiled: “I also love Mia and Letty’s relationship, and I feel like it was a treat to see them on screen.”

Brewster added: “We haven’t seen enough of that, so hopefully that is explored in [Fast and Furious] 10 and 11.”

Fast 9 included Mia taking more of a driver’s seat position where the action was concerned.

This is something Brewster is hoping to continue in the final two films as well.

She confessed: “I would love to continue being more physical, and I’d love to get back to Mia’s roots.”

Brewster explained: “She was a bad**s in [Fast and Furious] one and it’s fun to play!

“I’d like to finish it out big, I’d like to have more action.”

Fast & Furious 9 with the extended Director’s Cut is available to own on Digital now and 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on 11 October.
