Lisa Maxwell had filler removed due to reaction that caused ‘lumps on her face’

Lisa Maxwell has revealed that she had her filler removed after she had a bad reaction that brought out big lumps on her face.

The 58 year old actress opened up to Lorraine Kelly on Lorraine on Thursday about the “tweakments” she has had in the past including Botox and filler. The TV star admitted it that she had the treatments after feeling “pressure” to “maintain a youthful look.”

The British actress who has starred in hit soaps such as EastEnders, Hollyoaks and The Bill, recounted the moment she decided to have the fillers dissolved.

Lisa began: “I definitely felt that I was under pressure to, sort of, maintain a youthful look and you do little things along the way that you think are helping.

“Then I think as time goes on you have these so called “tweakments”, bits of filler here and Botox and stuff like that and I had all of that.

“Then I had a reaction to some filler and I had some lumps come up on my face and I just took a long look at myself and thought what am I doing here?”

The painful reaction led Lisa to make the “difficult” decision to stop all beauty treatments that prevented signs of ageing in her face.

Though, Lisa admitted it was “mentally” very challenging.

She disclosed: “So, I decided to have all of the filler dissolved, everything taken out of my face, which was difficult, you know, mentally to see yourself in the mirror.

“Things start to sort of sag the way they’re supposed to, but I’m glad I did because love acting and in order to play my age I think you’ve got to be as natural as you can really.”

Appearing on the show, Lisa discussed her latest role in Casualty in which she plays a 60 year old woman being a surrogate for her daughter who is born without a womb.
