Outlander brings together many different characters, both historical and completely original. Fergus Fraser was introduced in season two and became an important figure in Claire (played by Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser’s (Sam Heughan) lives. But who plays Fergus in the Starz show?
Who plays Fergus Fraser in Outlander?
Throughout the series, Fergus Fraser has continued to grow in importance to the main story, with no signs of that changing ahead of season six’s release.
The character is played by Cesar Domboy, with Romann Berrux portraying the character in his younger years.
Domboy was born in France and has gone on to achieve acting success on both sides of the Channel.
The star has also appeared in big-budget Hollywood productions with Robert Zemeckis’ The Walk being his breakout role.
Domboy, 31, played the secondary role of Jean-Francois and starred alongside the film’s leads Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Charlotte Le Bon.
His other recent work includes Eugenie Grandet, Up For Love and mini-series Resistance from back in 2014.
He will also be co-starring in The Mad Woman’s Ball alongside Melanie Laurent.
This is an upcoming French film about a woman who was unfairly institutionalised at the Salpêtrière hospital and manages to escape.
In Outlander, Fergus is married to Marsali Fraser (Lauren Lyle) with fans deeming them the cutest couple in the show.
The pair spend a lot of time together on and off the screen, with Domboy and Lyle revealing some of their off-screen rituals during this year’s World Outlander Day.
On June 1, the official Twitter account for Outlander shared a clip of the pair talking about what they get up to when the cameras aren’t rolling.
They often enjoy exploring the locations they film at, with Lyle saying: “We hang out together.
“We do a little walk. A little walk to the Botanicals in Glasgow if we’re filming in Glasgow.”
Domboy replied: “We know it by heart.”
Lyle then added: “You’ve normally scoped out all the best places to eat because you have a different one every night, so you know what’s good to have.”
Romann Berrux, 20, who plays the younger version of Fergus, is another French actor that appeared in the series for one season back in 2016.
Since Outlander, he has starred in the show The Inside Game as Damien Forrest, a French crime-drama series.
Besides Outlander, the young star has only appeared in French productions, with his last role being in Huguette, a French film from 2019.
Cesar Domboy keeps fans up-to-date on his life and works in Outlander on his Instagram account.
Most recently he shared the news that he has been cast in Steven Knight’s new show SAS: Rogue Heroes.
The star captioned the post saying: “Overly proud and lucky to have been enrolled, to serve in the desert and to have eaten some Sahara sand with my SAS Rogue Heroes who don’t need no capes to be my heroes forever. It’s gonna be helluva show!” (sic)
His fans rushed to the comments to show their support, with one writing: “Congratulations Cesar, so happy for you!” (sic)
Another added: “We can’t wait to see you in this!”
Outlander is available to watch on Starz and Amazon Prime Video.
