DI Malone (Mark Womack) met his demise in shocking Emmerdale scenes at the hands of Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley), and it appears as if things are set to get a whole lot worse for the young woman in the aftermath of the horrific event.
With Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton) knowing the truth — given that she aided Dawn in disposing of the evidence — she attempts to help the young woman keep her cool in the following episodes, something which proves rather difficult when the police begin investigating.
Will (Dean Andrews) is quizzed by the coppers in regards to Malone’s disappearance, and Dawn is panicked.
She struggles to keep shtum, and she considers confiding in Billy (Jay Kontzle) about what’s happened, but she ultimately decides to break up with him instead — leaving him confused and upset.
Meanwhile, DS Wise implies that Will is a suspect in Malone’s vanishing — something which makes him incredibly concerned, and he ends up making things worse for himself.
Will’s brought in for further questioning, and Dawn struggles, as Harriet attempts to reassure her.
However, unable to think of any other way out, Dawn decides to leave the village.
As Will arrives home, he enquires if Harriet and Dawn know anything about Malone’s sudden exit, but before the vicar can issue him with an answer, the front door slams shut as Dawn leaves.
Will and Harriet give chase, and ultimately catch up with Dawn and Billy in the street, but little do they know that DS Wise have observed their confrontation, and is determined to find out what the family in question is hiding.
Will Dawn go down for Malone’s murder?
