Trouble and death will continue to follow Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) around in EastEnders as he gets news a family member has died.
A few weeks ago, viewers discovered more information about Gray’s dad.
Gray’s father, Alex, has spent months unwell in a hospital and, after some gentle encouragement from Whitney (Shona McGarty), Gray spent time with his dad for the first time in years.
However, understandably the meeting didn’t go to plan as Alex questioned Gray about Chantelle’s (Jessica Plummer) death.
Touching on Gray’s anger as a child, Alex was terrified to consider his son may have had something to do with Chantelle’s death.
Using his manipulation and Alex’s ill health to his advantage, Gray told his father he wasn’t thinking straight and headed out.
Coming up, Gray gets a call that leaves him devastated – his dad has died.
The next day, Gray tells Whitney he didn’t expect to be so cut up over his dad, but what will Alex’s death mean for Gray as he continues to hide his murderous secrets?
Could this finally be the start of his downfall?
