TEEN Mom alum Jenelle Evans said she supports Farrah Abraham for allowing her daughter Sophia, 12, to wear make-up, calling it "cool" for preteens.
The mom of three, 29, who has faced criticism for putting makeup on her own toddler daughter, Ensley, defended her former Teen Mom co-star for allowing her preteen to wear makeup.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Jenelle said: “I really don't have a problem with makeup. I think it's cool when you get to the preteen age and you start your makeup."
At that stage in life, Jenelle said: “Trial and error really goes a long way. So that's awesome. Good for Farrah on that!”
However, the mother-of-three said that when it comes to some of the clothing choices Farrah has allowed for Sophia to sport, she added: “I don’t agree with kids wearing skimpy clothes.”
The former Teen Mom star said that some of the clothing options Farrah has the 12-year-old wearing reminds her of Fashion Nova’s clothing line for children.
“Some of the clothes that Fashion Nova kids promotes is kind of skimpy too and it reminds me of that.
They have girls in crop tops and I think that when you're old enough you can choose what you want to wear, but when you're in your parents' home you should not be wearing that type of stuff,” Jenelle added.
Farrah was slammed for allowing Sophia to wear makeup while the preteen sported a crop top over the summer.
Sophia wore a crop top and high-waisted jeans while at the hair salon.
While the youngster looked stunning, critics felt Farrah seemed to be "encouraging" Sophia to look older than she is.
Similarly, Jenelle caught backlash for putting makeup on her toddler daughter, Ensley.
Last year the reality star shared snaps of her little girl wearing eyeshadow and lipstick but restricted comments on the post.
It followed another post of Ensley posing in makeup last summer which fans criticized.
One fan deemed it as "ridiculous," while others said it was "totally unacceptable" for her to put makeup on the toddler.
More recently the MTV star opened up about being left out of the franchise’s spin-off show, which included Farrah.
Jenelle said that when production approached her and she asked if Farrah would be attending, she was told they wouldn’t be giving away any surprises.
The mother-of-three said she was ultimately relieved when she didn’t receive follow up calls from producers.
Jenelle told The Sun: “I’m glad they made the decision for me because I would have probably been up for it.”
The 29-year-old explained that her former Teen Mom 2 producers had reached out to her and asked her if she was interested in joining the spin-off, but once she brought up possibly bringing her husband David along for support- they stopped communicating with her entirely.
“I said I want to bring David and he can stay down the street in a hotel. I wanted to have someone there for support if sh*t hit the fan.”
Jenelle said producers ghosted her after that.
“They didn’t even tell me yes or no, they just ignored me.”
Ultimately, Jenelle said she is glad she didn’t end up going.
“It would have been bad for my mental health and right now I'm in a good place. I'm really peaceful in my family, everyone's getting along, besides my mom but that’s a whole other story.
“On my side of the family, everything's going good and I feel like that would have shook up my world.”
