The Chase viewers have slammed Chaser Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis for his mistake-filled episode on Monday.

The Irish quizzer faced off against four contestants on today's episode (October 4) and had a successful start.

However, after sending the first contestant of the day home early, Darragh quickly crumbled.

In his second solo chase of the day, Darragh got three questions wrong, admitting himself that the had made a 'few mistakes' in that particular chase.

The Chase host Bradley Walsh also noticed Darragh's lack of form, noting before the final ad break that the quizzer had had 'a nightmare' and viewers agreed.

One wrote: "Ooft Darragh is having a mare today like."

Another commented: "Darragh is having a mare."

A third said: "3 wrong in that head-to-head, Darragh. Your name starts with D. Disappointing starts with D. That's what I’d call your performance. Sorry."

Meanwhile, another said: "Darragh, you need to read the question and then answer it correctly. Practice what you preached Mr ex-contestant chaser!"

"Darragh my love, what are you doing?" Another fan asked.

Darragh's woes began when he answered a simple 'final girl' question incorrectly.

He was asked by Bradley Walsh: "The term 'final girl' is most commonly used when discussing what film genre?"

In response, Darragh answered 'rom-com' rather then the correct answer 'horror'.

Quizzed by Bradley over his choice of answer, Darragh said that he assumed the phrase meant the' final love interest left' rather than the 'last person left standing'.

Despite criticism from viewers over his performance in the round, Darragh pulled things back and bested the three remaining contestants in the final chase, squandering their opportunity to walk away with the £11,000 pot.

The Chase airs at 5pm weekdays on ITV.
