The Chase favourite Anne Hegerty was accused of "insulting" one player on the show on Friday when she presented her with a particularly disappointing low offer.
Contestant Sacha was the third player to step up to the plate, facing Anne after her teammates Steve and Dennis brought back £13,000 between them.
Ahead of her cash builder, Sacha, who works as a midwife, revealed she manages her pet dog's social media in her spare time, as Phoebe the pug has a significant following.
When asked how she planned to spend her winnings, Sacha revealed: "Phoebe quite wants a new bed. So if I can get her the designer bed she wants, that would be amazing."
The pressure of the cash builder proved too much and Sacha managed to get just three questions right, prompting a wave of one-liners from Chaser Anne.
"I have a suspicion that Phoebe the pug could have done better than that," Anne swiped.
Sacha tried to take the quip on the chin, and replied: "Thank you, I have trained her well."
When Anne displayed her options – including a low offer of minus £1,000 – Sacha's teammates, and host Bradley Walsh, leapt to her defence.
Player Steve slammed the Chaser's decision and said: "The minus is an insult."
Spurred on by the support from the team, Sacha turned to Anne with a withering look, hitting back at her offers with her head held high.
"I'm not going for the minus," she said, before referring to the high offer and snapping: "And £20,000 is not really tempting enough."
However, Anne couldn't resist another dig, as she swiped: "I have a feeling we have already seen the brains of the team. But also we may need to get rid of you."

Thankfully, Sacha sailed through the second round and made it to the final, boosting the team's kitty to £16,000.
Anne paid Sacha a compliment of sorts after the play-off, quipping: "I'm now very annoyed by you and your almost supernaturally shiny hair."
All four players managed to make it through to the final, and beat Anne with seconds to spare, dividing up £21,000 between them.
"Really, really well done," Anne said, who lost graciously, adding: "Enjoy the money."
The Chase airs on weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
