The Last Of Us fans hail Star Wars Pedro Pascal as perfect in hit HBO series

Fans have hailed Star Wars actor Pedro Pascal as "perfect casting" and "spectacular" in hit new HBO series The Last Of Us.

The Mandalorian star plays Joel in the critically-acclaimed series, which debuted on Sky and Now TV in the UK last week (January 16, 2023).

Based on the smash-hit video game, The Last Of Us follows Pedro Pascal's Joel as he is tasked with helping a teenager across a post-apocalyptic world, who may be the key to creating a vaccine to an infection that triggered a global pandemic twenty years before.

Episode two of the new series recently aired, and fans have flocked to social media to praise Pedro Pascal's performance in the series, with one saying: "They could not have picked a better Joel than Pedro Pascal."

"Finally got around to watching the first episode of HBO's The Last Of Us. It's good, especially Pedro Pascal as Joel doing a phenomenal job," agreed a second.

A third penned: "Pedro Pascal as Joel in The Last Of Us is definitely the perfect casting," while a fourth said: "Whoever chose Pedro Pascal for the character of Joel in The Last Of Us is a genius. Pedro is an absolute class of an actor."

"Pedro Pascal was super quick to become one of my favourites because I absolutely love The Mandalorian and now he's killing it in The Last Of Us," added a sixth.

A seventh viewer added: "Watching episode two of The Last Of Us again. They nailed the clickers so well and Pedro Pascal is easily my number one guy right now."

The praise continued to flock in for the star, with another viewer saying: "Pedro Pascal is absolutely smashing it in The Last Of Us. He's never not had a bad performance. Spectacular in everything he does from Mandalorian to Oberyn Martell in Game Of Thrones to Narcos."

With a stellar cast including Bella Ramsey as teenager Elle, Anna Torv as Tess and Gabriel Luna as Tommy, it seems that The Last Of Us is set to become one of the year's most talked about series.
