Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham argued that the north was not treated as equally as important as London regarding the coronavirus crisis. While on Good Morning Britain with Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, Mr Burnham complained the Government made adjustments to the furlough and financial support once London went into Tier 2, he insisted this same treatment was not afforded to Manchester. Mr Burnham also addressed the Governments plan to allow house mixing over the Christmas period.
Mr Burnham insisted this was another example of the Government not getting the balance correct in their coronavirus response.
